ZQRX – another step on our sustainability journey

ZQ is a wool certification standard that stands for better quality – for the animals, for the planet, for you. Established in 2006, it is the world’s leading sustainable, ethical, and traceable wool. Dedicated to long term partnerships and sustainability, ZQ works with like-minded Kiwi farmers, industry partners, manufacturers and brands all around the world.

Here at Swanndri, we’re proud to source wool from ZQ certified New Zealand wool growers. The best of the best, from the best place in world to grow wool. It’s good to be working with farmers and partners who share the same values and commitment to quality and sustainability.

And now, it’s going to get better. We’re extra-proud to announce that we’ve signed on with ZQRX, a new platform for the next stage of sustainable wool. On the 9th July 2021, we were part of the ZQRX launch along with 23 other brands, all committed to aligning on the future of regenerative agriculture for New Zealand.

ZQRX is all about helping wool growers give back. Using a Regenerative Index, it enables farmers to measure and improve how they do things like restore waterways, protect native species, offset carbon, and enhance local communities.

It monitors regenerative inputs and outputs, using the latest technology that serves nature, and a proactive approach to positive human action to enable wool growers to work more sustainably and world-leading brands to champion and celebrate growers’ efforts on a daily basis. Put simply, it’s a recipe for a future in which we give a little more than we take.

And that’s an idea get can get on board with. Because we know that sustainability is important to you, and the people we work with. It’s important to us, too.

We’re committed to our sustainability journey. To being transparent, proactive and continually striving for better. To doing it the right way, not the easy way. Making a genuine positive difference – not just talking about it.

We’re in this for the long haul, and we’re taking every step we can, however big or small, because every step counts. This is just one step toward a more sustainable Swanndri – and there are more coming. Watch this space.
